Bac Ninh plans to organize e-commerce application training for young entrepreneurs

To equip young people with digital knowledge and skills and promote entrepreneurship, on October 24, 2025, at the Vietnam-Korea Vocational College of Technology and the Industrial Technical College (Bac Ninh), the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in coordination with the Bac Ninh Department of Industry and Trade, plans to organize a training program on "Applying E-commerce for Young Entrepreneurs," with the participation of more than 150 students, young people, lecturers, and experts in the field of e-commerce.

According to the plan, on October 24, 2025, at the Vietnam-Korea Vocational College of Technology and the Industrial Technical College (Bac Ninh province), the "Application of E-commerce for Young Entrepreneurs" program will be organized by the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in coordination with the Bac Ninh Department of Industry and Trade. The program is expected to attract more than 150 students, young entrepreneurs, lecturers, and e-commerce experts, demonstrating the growing interest of young people in the digital economy.

This activity is part of a series of programs by the Ministry of Industry and Trade aimed at concretizing policies and guidelines to support young people in creative entrepreneurship and promote innovation in business models in the context of a rapidly developing digital economy. Through the program, young people will be equipped with essential e-commerce knowledge and skills, contributing to the formation of sustainable livelihoods, while also participating in building a professional, transparent, and integrated digital economy.

The training program in Bac Ninh is expected to be designed to be practical, in-depth, and closely aligned with the needs of students and young entrepreneurs in the area. The training content will focus on improving digital skills, the ability to apply new technologies, and mastering modern e-commerce tools, in line with market development trends.

The training is expected to focus on practical e-commerce skills.

According to the organizers, in addition to providing foundational knowledge about e-commerce and development trends in Vietnam, the program will focus on training skills in producing high-converting short videos; guiding the building of sales channels on the TikTok Shop platform; and introducing and implementing the affiliate marketing model. Experts will also provide guidance on building startup plans and roadmaps, and share practical support policies for young people.

At the program, representatives from the Vietnam Youth Entrepreneurship Support Center are expected to share practical experiences, emphasizing that e-commerce is no longer the exclusive domain of large businesses but has opened opportunities for all individuals with creative ideas. With approximately 76.2 million social media users, Vietnam possesses a large potential market for digital content and content commerce. With just a smart device and a suitable idea, young people can gradually build an online business model, in which knowledge and creativity play a key role.

Experts are expected to analyze the role of TikTok Shop as a "launchpad" for student entrepreneurs, helping to shorten the journey from content creation to transactions. The shared content will focus on how to build an account, complete a profile, choose a channel name, optimize product descriptions, and clearly identify the target customer group. Entrepreneurs will also be advised to start with products that are easily accessible, easy to produce content for, and have a suitable profit margin.

In the content creation section, speakers will guide participants on the fundamental elements of creating engaging short videos that encourage purchasing behavior; they will also suggest developing content in various directions such as product reviews, concise guides, or entertaining content related to the product. Once sales are stable, young people can expand their network through affiliate marketing programs. Regarding the roadmap, participants will receive step-by-step guidance on channel building, content production, opening a store, uploading products, and evaluating and optimizing effectiveness.

Experts also expect to emphasize that e-commerce startups are not just about selling goods, but also about building a personal brand, understanding consumers, and complying with online business laws. The upcoming draft of the revised E-commerce Law is expected to strengthen the management of livestreaming and affiliate marketing activities, and create a transparent and healthy business environment for market participants.

Opportunities and trends in e-commerce will be analyzed in the program.

Besides practical content, the program is expected to provide an overview of e-commerce and the digital economy. Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan, Director of the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (eComDX), Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), is expected to share insights on the development context of e-commerce and opportunities for young people.

According to the plan, e-commerce will continue to assert its role as a pioneering sector, a driving force, and a pillar of the digital economy. Globally, online retail sales are projected to reach approximately US$6.86 trillion by 2025. In Vietnam, the e-commerce market maintains a high growth rate, with a size of approximately US$25 billion in 2024 and an expected US$35 billion in 2025, along with more than 61 million online shoppers.

New business models such as the sharing economy, dropshipping, affiliate marketing, direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales, and the "entertainment first - buy later" trend based on content are expected to continue to be analyzed as suitable directions for young entrepreneurs. To effectively capitalize on these opportunities, young people need to be equipped with knowledge, technological skills, creative thinking, and a sense of legal compliance, while also utilizing support programs from the Ministry of Industry and Trade such as GoAI, GoOnline, GoExport, and GoRight.

Regarding technological trends, the program is expected to address three major shifts in e-commerce: mobile commerce and social commerce; the application of artificial intelligence in personalizing shopping experiences; and the multi-channel sales model connecting online and offline. In addition, green and sustainable e-commerce with environmentally friendly packaging, low-carbon logistics, and the circular economy will also be emphasized.

Improving policies to create a foundation for sustainable startups.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, alongside training, policies to improve the legal framework will continue to be implemented to support young people in starting businesses. Recently, the Ministry has issued several decisions, such as Decision No. 116/QD-BCT and Decision No. 337/QD-BCT, aimed at promoting innovation, digital transformation, and improving the business environment.

The draft Law on E-commerce (amended), expected to be submitted to the 15th National Assembly at the October 2025 session, is anticipated to address issues related to market management, consumer protection, personal data, and creating favorable conditions for startups. Strict implementation of Decree No. 85/2021/ND-CP is considered a foundation for e-commerce startups to enhance their reputation, build trust, and achieve sustainable development.
