To promote cross-border e-commerce and support Vietnamese businesses in expanding their export markets through platforms in China, from June 16-22, 2026, the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (eComDX) - Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in collaboration with the ACBC Global Cross-Border E-commerce Alliance, VIETFAS Co., Ltd., and many partners in China, organized the “Training, Survey and Business Matching Program for Export via E-commerce in China” in Henan Province, China.
The program is being implemented in the context of cross-border e-commerce becoming an inevitable trend in global export activities, while also opening up many opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to understand the regulations and procedures of importing countries, as well as to learn and improve their cross-border e-commerce operational skills from partners. This is also a practical activity to support management agencies, industry associations, and the business community in enhancing their capacity to apply e-commerce in promoting goods exports and connecting with partners, expanding markets abroad.
The delegation included representatives from state management agencies in the fields of e-commerce, import-export, customs, and taxation; trade promotion organizations and business associations; manufacturing, import-export, e-commerce, logistics, and finance businesses; as well as training institutions, research institutes, and related units.
With many specific professional activities such as participating in intensive training programs on e-commerce and cross-border e-commerce at the Henan Academy of Economic and Commercial Training with highly practical content, conducting field surveys of the e-commerce ecosystem, supply chain and logistics in China to update development trends, operating models and implementation experience in the field of digital commerce, attending the China-ASEAN Digital Commerce Cooperation Conference and especially activities connecting directly with e-commerce partners, logistics units and major importers in the Chinese market.
China is currently the world's largest e-commerce market with over 975 million online shoppers. Total e-commerce revenue in China is projected to exceed US$3.45 trillion by 2025, while cross-border e-commerce is expected to reach approximately US$404.9 billion, with exports accounting for 79%. Henan Province – a logistics hub and one of the leading cities in cross-border e-commerce models such as 1210 and 9610 – boasts a GDP of approximately US$890 billion and a population of nearly 100 million, making it a prime example of a digital commerce ecosystem serving the massive Chinese market. Henan Province also boasts rapid growth in manufacturing, logistics, and cross-border e-commerce within China. With its large population, developed economy, and strategic location in central China, Henan is becoming an important consumer and connectivity hub in the regional digital supply chain and trade.
Through this program, the organizers expect to contribute to improving the management capacity and application of e-commerce for Vietnamese businesses, while promoting the export of Vietnamese goods to the Chinese market in a more modern, sustainable, and efficient manner.
