“MegaLive for Youth”: Spreading the spirit of innovation and digital entrepreneurship to young people.

In the festive atmosphere leading up to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Youth Union, from May 20-22, the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (eComDX) - Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, Ministry of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the Vietnam Youth Entrepreneurship Support Center (SYS Vietnam) and TikTok Shop, organized the "MegaLive Youth" series of activities - a shopping festival for mother and baby products.

This is a particularly meaningful activity to reflect on our journey of accompanying Vietnamese youth and to continue opening up new development opportunities for the younger generation in the digital economy era.

Promoting the in-depth development of e-commerce.

Speaking at the launch of the event series, Mr. Bui Huy Hoang - Deputy Director of eComDX emphasized that in recent years, e-commerce in Vietnam has been developing at a very rapid pace. However, more important than the growth rate is the quality of development and the depth of the e-commerce ecosystem.

eComDX, in collaboration with SYS Vietnam and TikTok Shop, is organizing the "Youth MegaLive" series of events from May 20-22.

According to Mr. Bui Huy Hoang, while e-commerce was previously mainly understood as "putting goods on a platform," it has now undergone a transformation in its model, encompassing real-time consumer experiences and connecting brands with consumers through on-screen personalities on digital platforms.

The Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) is both a specialized management agency and an organization responsible for developing the e-commerce market in Vietnam. Recently, the eComDX Center – under the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy – has collaborated with SYS to organize training activities and livestreaming on TikTok Shop as part of its efforts to promote the development of the e-commerce market in Vietnam.

Mr. Hoang shared that this is a model to promote e-commerce by industry, where businesses have the opportunity to reach customers in new ways; content creators have the opportunity to develop their careers; and especially, young people have more opportunities to participate in the digital economy with their own creative abilities.

Representatives from eComDX highly appreciated the collaborative model between government agencies, technology platforms, youth support organizations, and the business community in "MegaLive for Youth".

"Hopefully, this livestream will not only bring positive commercial results, but also spread the spirit of innovation, the willingness to try new things, and the pioneering spirit of Vietnamese youth in the digital age, " shared a representative from eComDX.

The "Youth MegaLive" event took place on the Michi Baby Official TikTok channel from 9 AM to 12 AM on May 20th, and on the Mom Sam Review TikTok channel from 9 AM to 12 AM on May 22nd, with the participation and support of numerous top creators in the DAKE MCN system: Aunt Lyn Ne, Tran Duc Cung, Bao Ngoc Aerobic, Mom Khang Sua, GA MAI MO, The World of Moms and Babies, Doomi Baby, Mom and Baby Marso, Doan Hai Dang, Thoc Gao Shop, Thuy Binh Sua, Thang Dinh Duong, The World of Beloved Children, Vu Phuong Daily, Mom's Corner.Dake, Phuc Hoa Tra, Ri.O Family...

Activities promoting e-commerce in depth are also being advertised through roadshow screens on the streets.

Supporting young people in developing digital business skills.

According to representatives from eComDX, a very noteworthy point today is that e-commerce is no longer the "exclusive playground" of large businesses. Nowadays, with just a phone, a livestream session, and a serious idea, many young people can start their own business journey.

Activities like "MegaLive for Youth" are not just short-term sales events, but are becoming important testing grounds for how to develop a new generation of e-commerce in Vietnam: connecting technology with the community, linking business with training, and linking growth with the development of the nation's digital workforce.

“That is also why the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy always considers the development of digital human resources and support for young people starting digital businesses as a very important task in the development of e-commerce in Vietnam. We hope that e-commerce will not only generate revenue, but also create new career opportunities, new employment models, and new development impetus for Vietnamese youth,” Mr. Hoang emphasized.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen Phan Huy Khoi, Director of the Vietnam Youth Entrepreneurship Support Center, emphasized that developing e-commerce is not only for market growth but also for forming a new digital workforce for Vietnam. This is a direction that has been strongly promoted recently. Mr. Khoi also hopes to organize monthly livestream sessions to create a platform for brands to reach consumers through e-commerce, prioritizing Vietnamese brands.

Through collaborative activities with TikTok Vietnam and the Vietnam Youth Entrepreneurship Support Center, eComDX expects to gradually develop practical training models, support ecosystems for digital commerce content creators, and create opportunities for young people to access digital business skills in a more systematic way.

In the coming period, the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development hopes to continue collaborating with platforms, businesses, and social organizations to promote e-commerce programs tailored to specific industries, localities, and target groups; thereby helping Vietnamese e-commerce develop sustainably, humanely, and create real value for society.

The "MegaLive Youth" program, held in the spirit of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Youth Union (1956 – 2026), is a prime example of collaboration between state management agencies, technology platforms, youth support organizations, and the business community to promote the development of the digital economy linked to young people and youth entrepreneurship.
