Enhancing digital capabilities and e-commerce platform operation skills for employees of Vietnam Chemical Corporation

On April 16th, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Chemical Corporation (Vinachem), in collaboration with the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development - eComDX), organized a training conference on "Operating the Vinachem Mart e-commerce platform" for officers and employees from member units.

The conference took place over two days, April 16th and 17th, 2026, with a large number of participants, demonstrating a positive response and determination to enhance the professional capacity and digital skills of the workforce in the context of the ever-developing digital economy.

The conference focused on equipping participants with practical skills ranging from legal and technological aspects to operational store management, aiming to optimize performance on the Group's (VinachemMart) e-commerce platform.

Digital transformation: A central and urgent task.

In his opening remarks at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Luyen, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Chemical Corporation, emphasized that the conference was organized to meet the increasingly high demands on staff in the process of digital transformation and economic development towards modernization.

Mr. Nguyen Van Luyen, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Chemical Corporation, delivered a speech at the conference.

According to Mr. Luyen, mastering e-commerce platform operation skills is no longer an option but a mandatory requirement for businesses to keep up with the global digitalization trend. "Digital transformation is being identified by the Party and the State as one of the key, breakthrough tasks for socio-economic development. The requirement goes beyond simply mastering expertise; it also demands that each employee proactively improve their digital capabilities, gradually mastering technology, especially the application of artificial intelligence in handling work and managing the Vinachem Mart e-commerce platform," Mr. Luyen affirmed.

Equipping yourself with a "three-legged stool": Legal - Technological - Practical

Over the two days of the conference, participants were equipped with a structured knowledge roadmap, ranging from legal frameworks to practical operational skills. The content was developed based on the actual requirements of the industry, enabling participants to apply what they learned directly to their work at their respective units immediately after the course.

Master the legal aspects.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan, Director of eComDX Center, shared at the conference.

At the conference, to help businesses develop sustainably and avoid legal risks, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan, Director of the eComDX Center, directly shared information on the legal framework for e-commerce, including: the Law on E-commerce, the Draft Decree guiding the Law on E-commerce, and related regulations such as advertising and tax regulations. In addition, Mr. Tuan focused on current popular e-commerce business models, regulations on conditional business in e-commerce for sectors such as chemicals, tobacco, and alcoholic beverages, and consumer protection in e-commerce.

Mr. Tuan noted that, given the specific characteristics of the chemical industry, a sector with many products subject to conditional business regulations, Vinachem's member units need to be particularly cautious in ensuring transparency of product origin and labeling when listing products on the platform. Especially, according to the upcoming Law on E-commerce No. 122/2025/QH15, which will soon take effect, e-commerce will for the first time have its own law instead of a decree, creating a solid legal basis but also demanding higher responsibility from sellers in protecting consumers. Mr. Tuan also emphasized the importance of proactively notifying/registering e-commerce websites/applications with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and strictly implementing Decree 117/2025/ND-CP on tax management, especially since personal identification numbers will be used instead of tax identification numbers from July 1, 2025.

Mastering technology

While establishing a legal framework is a necessary but insufficient condition in the context of digital competition, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan emphasized that mastering technological tools, especially artificial intelligence (AI), plays a crucial role for businesses.

Accordingly, at the conference, participants were guided on how to utilize AI in various aspects of their professional work, from compiling information, data, reports, and emails to image processing such as creating character images, product images, banners, and backdrops; as well as improving image quality or restoring blurry or shaky images; and building product advertising videos and social media communication.

For units under the Vietnam Chemical Corporation, these applications can be directly utilized in the process of building and operating booths on the Vinachem Mart platform, from standardizing product information and perfecting images to developing introductory content suitable for the specific characteristics of the chemical industry.

In addition, AI also supports the creation of media content such as product introduction videos, audio files for voiceovers, background music composition, and presentation slide design. Integrating these tools contributes to automating many processes, improving work efficiency, and helping Vinachem's products reach more customers and enhance business effectiveness in the digital environment.

Improve practical skills

Ms. Tran Thi Hong Van, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Meta Ecom Group, provided guidance on livestreaming skills at the conference.

Besides mastering AI technology, practical livestream sales skills are one of the key contents that attract special attention from the trainees. This section is led by Ms. Tran Thi Hong Van, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Meta Ecom Group, a seasoned expert in the TikTok Shop field in Vietnam.

Through Ms. Van's presentation, the trainees were updated on core livestreaming strategies for 2026, from upgrading professional live streaming rooms (optimizing lighting, sound, and background) to mastering modern interactive tools. In particular, the expert provided in-depth guidance on building diverse live streaming scripts, skills in coordinating live streams, and methods for effectively retaining customers.

To ensure the safety and sustainability of online stores, trainees are also provided with a list of infringing keywords to avoid, according to the latest regulations of the platforms.

Immediately after the theoretical part, the groups began practicing livestreaming with the Group's specific products. Through this, Vinachem's staff mastered the skills of handling real-life situations and smoothly applied the formula: "Attractive opening - Introducing product features - Closing techniques and calls to action".

Optimized operation and professional visual thinking.

In addition to boosting sales, the conference also focused on helping participating companies become self-reliant in building a professional brand image in the digital space. Ms. Ho Bao Ngoc, an e-commerce specialist representing Lix Detergent Joint Stock Company, directly guided participants in practical exercises at the "Mini Studio," thereby introducing them to product photography techniques using mobile phones and mastering the principles of shooting angles and lighting.

Ms. Ho Bao Ngoc, an e-commerce specialist and representative from Lix Detergent Joint Stock Company, guides trainees through practical exercises at the "Mini Studio".

In the prepared "Mini Studio" area, Ms. Ngoc directly instructed trainees on product photography techniques using mobile phones, from choosing the right angle to maximize the advantages of the packaging to the principles of professional lighting. Beyond just photography, trainees received in-depth training on uploading photos to the correct platform standards, post-processing techniques, and especially SEO-optimized product naming methods. This is a crucial link in helping Vinachem's products increase their visibility and reach target customers naturally in the online environment.

The conference also dedicated a significant amount of time to practical exercises. With the support of experts, participants independently designed product images optimized for conversion rates using Canva and created short videos promoting product features using CapCut. These activities were implemented closely aligned with real-world requirements, enabling participants not only to master the theory but also to immediately implement professional visual communication campaigns for their respective organizations.

Through direct feedback on practical exercises and problem-solving in class, experts helped participants strengthen their skills and gain more confidence in real-world implementation. With practical content and a direct approach, the conference not only equipped participants with knowledge but also significantly contributed to changing the mindset of Vinachem's staff. Mastering digital tools and practical skills was identified as the 'key' to effectively operating the Vinachem Mart platform, affirming the Group's commitment to promoting digital transformation and achieving sustainable and modern development.
